Camel Fair Week Itinerary
Five days during fair week, balancing the spectacle of the fair with Pushkar's quieter spiritual side.
Check into desert camp. Watch herders arrive. Sunset at the dunes — thousands of camels silhouetted against orange sky.
Arrive at fair grounds by 7 AM for camel trading. Photography golden hour. Cultural arena performances in the afternoon.
Brahma Temple at sunrise. Walk the ghats. Hot air balloon ride over the fair in the afternoon (pre-book essential).
Kartik Poornima. Join the mass pilgrimage snan at the lake — hundreds of thousands of devotees bathing together. Extraordinary and deeply moving.
Final morning at the quieting fair grounds. Shop for handicrafts in the bazaar (best after crowds thin). Savitri sunset. Depart.
